Judy's Hamburger Pie
Combine: 1/4 cup potato flakes, 1 Tablespoon sugar, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon cream of tartar. Cut in: 1/3 cup butter. Add: 1/2 cup milk and 1/4 cup mayonnaise. Divide in 2. Roll or pat half out on cookie sheet, in vaguely circular manner. Roll or pat out the rest a little larger than that. Saute: 1.5 lb hamburger, 1/2 cup onion, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Add 1 egg, 1/4 cup ketchup, 1 Tablespoon mustard, 1/2 cup potato flakes. Put the meat mix on the flat crust, on the cookie sheet. Sprinkle some cheese on top. Top with top crust, pinch edges. The "pie" will be mounded up on the cookie sheet, not in a pie pan. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes. Even better the second day.
